The Sunshine Tennis Club was established 20 years ago. The site was originally vacant land next to the Sunshine Holiday Centre (now Howrah Recreation Centre and Howrah Bowls Club).
Initially 5 synthetic grass courts were installed and a 20 year dream was realised in August 2008 when the club opened its 6th court.
The club also has a fully equipped club house to cater for various events.
The 12th October, 2013 was the official opening of the Hitting Wall and Mini Hot Shots Court. Opened by the Honourable Lara Giddings and attended by members and friends, the CCC Mayor Alderman Doug Chipman and Mark Handley Director Tennis Tasmania.
It was a special day for Sunshine, we had many hurdles to cross to get to this stage and Carol thanked the CCC for their support and stated our club is proud to be part of the Clarence Municipality. Carol also thanked all those involved in this development - we now have one of the best facilities for junior development and adult use.
